This research project supported by Australian National University and the Australian Research Council is the first of its kind that investigates how the pressures of commuting play out through home and work life, and impact on the longer-term wellbeing of commuters and their families.

The project researcher is Dr. David Bissell, Senior Lecturer in Sociology at the Australian National University. He is the recipient of an Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Award (DE120102279) which has enabled him to undertake this research. The ethical aspects of this research have been approved by the ANU Human Research Ethics Committee (protocol 2012/577).
